    VTEC said it has introduced a USB 2 external hard drive which has a retractable cable if you're the dozy absent minded sort who always leaves things you need behind. "The drive, the V-DISK 2, comes in 20GB, 40GB and 60GB capacities, and has some little LEDs to dazzle you as its transferring the data."

Apple upgrades AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi security

    Apple has updated its AirPort WLAN client and base-station software to add support for the Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) security protocol. "The new release, dubbed AirPort 3.2, only targets the company's 802.11g-based AirPort Extreme product range, not the earlier 802.11b implementation. The software includes a firmware upgrade for the AirPort Extreme access point and AirPort Extreme client code."

Intel Pentium 4 Extremely Expensive Edition to ship Monday

    Intel will finally ship its extremely expensive Pentium 4 Extreme Edition on Monday, more than a month after the games-oriented processor was announced. "So says PC World, citing a source "familiar with Intel's plans". This 'deep throat' also claims a number of PC vendors will on Monday announce boxes based on the chip."
