MAJOR SECURITY FLAW

IN MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP-HOME-PRO

Windows XP has a security hole that can be exploited to make unwanted messages from outsiders pop up on your desktop. Fortunately, it can be very easily disabled. This flaw effects anyone that is not connected to a large corporate network. Microsoft by default has enabled there Messenger service to run automatically. which you only need if your on a corporate network and want to be notified when there is a problem with it.

Don't get talked into paying $10 to have someone fix this flaw. I will teach you how to do it here for free.

This is all you have to do. Right click on your My Computer Icon, Left click on Manage.

This opens The Computer Management Window. You must be logged in as Administrator to do this.

In this window you are going to click on Services&Applications, Then click on Services. Now go down and find Messenger in the list, double click it. The Messenger Properties window opens, I want you to change the Startup type to Disabled. By default it is on Automatic.

Now click on (OK) and your done, Problem fixed.
